My genetic epidemiology research is focused on lung function and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I am the recipient of a Young Clinical Scientist Award from the Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI), which was established to support research into tobacco related outcomes. My FAMRI funded research focuses on fine-mapping a region of chromosome 4 identified by linkage to the FEV1/FVC ratio in the Family Heart Study.

I serve as the primary genetic epidemiologist studying lung function phenotypes in the Framingham Heart Study, where we have recently performed a genome-wide association study of quantitative lung function traits.

In addition to studies of lung function, I collaborate on genetic studies of Parkinson Disease (GenePD) with Principal Investigator Richard H. Myers, PhD. I was awarded a research grant from the RJG foundation to further our Parkinson disease genetic studies of compelling candidate genes.
